Spring, 2013 K-8 After school Tutor-Mentor Position Available

Youth and Leaders Living Actively (YALLA) is the first and only comprehensive program in California that uses soccer to motivate elementary, middle school and high school child survivors of war and torture, as well as immigrant youth, to help rebuild their lives through its education, leadership and eco-therapy programs. With enrollment in college as the goal, YALLA’s participants are hooked in with soccer and, in order to play, are expected to adhere to YALLA’s education program. Many of the children suffer from post-traumatic stress disorder and have lost family members and friends to war and related violence. YALLA has served child survivors of war and violence from the Middle East, Asia, Africa and Central America.

As a grass roots non-profit organization based in El Cajon, CA, YALLA depends upon the dedicated support of energetic and committed staff.
