PCG is seeking a highly motivated and dependable Business Services Representative/Job Developer with an interest in public service who can work in our San Diego, California, CalWORKs Welfare-to-Work/Refugee employment services operation. The Business Services Representative/Job Developer will be responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with local employers in an effort to increase the number of job postings and Work Experience (WEX) opportunities available to our job-ready participants. The Business Services Representative/Job Developer will also be responsible for developing relationships with partner agencies to leverage resources for job fairs and recruitment and informing employers of available PCG services.

Overall Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the development of employment leads and Work Experience sites for CalWORKs clients.
  • Create and maintain relationships with local businesses, employers and agencies in assigned region (South, East, Refugee) in order to create working relationships that will lead to job referrals.
  • Work closely with Placement Specialist and Employment Training Instructors to place job seekers in employment opportunities.
  • Provide feedback to Placement Specialist and Employment Training Instructors on client’s interview status.
  • Assist in preparing clients for interviews with established employers and companies.
  • Provide employment information such as job leads, job fairs and recruitment events to Employment Services Team and Employment Training Advisors.
  • Schedule in house employer recruitment events and job fairs for CalWORKS participants.
  • Become active member in community by attending Job Fairs, employment/recruitment events in order to promote and market PCG Employment Services.
  • Organize job fairs and employer recruitment events to enhance employment opportunities for participants.
  • Schedule outreach activities such as presentations at community events (Chamber and Collaborative meetings) and with employers to establish working partnerships to generate job leads and develop Work Experience sites.
  • Responsible for generating job leads and WEX sites by both “warm” and “cold” leads.
  • Assist in meeting project measures for employment placements.
  • Update, track and report job and WEX placement data on the employer pipeline.
  • Provide ETAs with resources on job development and industry trends in the communities.
  • Develop and maintain a professional relationship with employers which includes frequent contact on employment services needs and trends.

Required Experience

 

 

  • A Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • At least 2 years of experience in training/ workforce development.
  • 2 to 3 years of customer relationship management or case management experience.
  • Fluent in English; bilingual or multilingual candidates desired.
